Were your parents instrumental in you pursuing art-making?
Yes, my mom took me to museums, exposing me to art at an early on age. My mom and dad were always very encouraging of everything I was creating.

What do yous hate about existence an artist?
I tin can't say that I detest anything about being an creative person, I dearest all aspects of it. That's non to say that it doesn't come without challenges. I would say the biggest obstacle is that there is no rule book for how to exist an artist. There is no exam you lot can accept or plan to become through that volition more or less guarantee your prosperity. There is an space number of ways to become a successful creative person and there is an space number of definitions for what a successful artist really is. Simply with that said, I savour the creative challenge.
Do you follow daily routines or schedules?
My routine is to allot 5-seven hours to my art exercise everyday. I start off by mixing colors, layering them, and studying how they interact. In both my resins and watercolors I utilize transparent glazes of color. The colors overlap in certain areas, creating new hues and depth. Once I settle on a color palette, I start working on 4 or 5 paintings simultaneously. In the procedure, I become attracted to some more than others. I go on with ones that interest me, ending upwards with one or 2 good paintings and recycling the others, it'southward a process of elimination.
What are you influenced by? People, places, or things. Just a listing – yous don't need to go into detail unless you want to.
I am very inspired past lite and the interaction of colour. I likewise look to verse for inspiration. Recently, I've been visually influenced by the translucency and depth of floral x-ray photography. Also, I have been traveling a lot lately, visiting New York, New Orleans and Charleston. All are thriving art centers which take really excited me. Some of my favorite, newly discovered artists are Wang Huangsheng, Ignat Ignatov, Bre Barnett, Udo Nöger. I'm very inspired by artists who push the boundaries of their medium.
What motivates you to proceed working?
I genuinely honey painting and I could not see myself doing anything else!
Unrelated to art, but very of import: Do you have whatsoever pets? What is your favorite drink? What is your favorite article of wearable?
Yes, I have 3 cats! Coffee is my favorite drink. And my favorite article of clothing is my paint covered crocs.
